Our ‘Knowledge Hub’ Provides a Human Rights Learning Experience

We provide a unique learning experience for girls and young women by helping them understand their rights as per international human rights law, standards and norms. This enables them to base their activism on universally recognised principles to bring about social change, especially where local and national laws are absent, inadequate or ineffective. Education is the springboard to action.

GET INVOLVED: The GHRH Scholars Programme 2025 (Summer) offers an enriching six-week educational series aimed at equipping young scholars with essential knowledge and skills to advocate for girls' human rights amidst a dynamic global landscape.

Participants will engage with world-renowned experts in a rigorous examination of pressing human rights issues affecting girls. Each session will focus on a specific theme, blending academic insights with practical strategies for effective advocacy.

Our ‘Advocacy Hub’ Provides the Tools to Advocate for Rights

We channel the passion of girls and young women into effective action whether it is at the grassroots and local level, or on the national and global stage. By equipping them with the practical tools to do so, they can exercise their own voices, have their own ‘seat at the table’, and bring about lasting change on issues that matter to them.

GET INVOLVED: Our Advocacy Programme is a five-week, online programme designed to equip participants with the skills, knowledge, and networks to advocate effectively for girls' human rights. Each session includes a focused talk, a practical exercise, and a group discussion to foster active engagement and learning. Ensuring that every girl has access to quality education is crucial for societal progress.

Participating in this programme offers a unique opportunity to enhance the participants knowledge and skills related to human rights advocacy. They'll gain valuable insights from experts, engage with like-minded individuals, and develop tools to drive meaningful change in their community. This experience not only empowers the participant but also amplifies the voices of those who need it most.

Our ‘Leadership Hub’ Cultivates Transformative Leadership Skills

Leadership skills empower girls to become effective advocates for their rights. By developing these skills, girls can learn to effectively articulate their ideas, persuade others, and advocate for positive change in their communities and beyond. Through effective leadership training, girls can learn to use their voices to influence decision makers and become change makers, leading the way towards a more just and equitable future for all.

GET INVOLVED: Our Leadership Programme equips young women (ages 16-24) with essential skills for leadership roles. Delivered online, it features expert-led training and practical exercises to foster confidence and impact. In collaboration with CEDR (Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution), this course focuses on three key areas:

  • Conflict Resolution: Develop skills to manage conflicts effectively in personal and professional settings, maintaining strong relationships through mediation.

  • Negotiation Skills: Learn to advocate for own needs and achieve mutually beneficial outcomes in various negotiation contexts.

  • Public Speaking: Gain confidence and skills to deliver clear, impactful presentations and convey ideas effectively to an audience.

Our ‘Young Lawyers Hub’ Creates a New Generation of Legal Advocates

GHRH's ‘Young Lawyer Hub’ provides training and fellowship opportunities to young female lawyers who are dedicated to promoting and protecting girls' human rights. Participants gain the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively utilize legal mechanisms and have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience through fellowship opportunities. We are committed to creating a new generation of legal advocates who are dedicated to promoting and protecting the human rights of girls around the world.
